It was a true honour for us to take part in the Arbutus Ridge Marina Grand Opening yesterday, January 31st. After months of hard work and as a result of a strong partnership with Herold Engineering and the residents committee, we could finally walk on the docks and appreciate the fruit of our labour. Not even the foggy and rainy weather diminished our spirits.

The new Arbutus Ridge Marine Facility

The marina will accommodate fishing and boating enthusiasts as well as kayakers living in the community and will offer plenty of space for gatherings and for residents wanting to “enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset”, as mentioned by Jurgen Duewel, a resident involved in the project.

This marine facility replaces the 30-year-old original dock that was purchased from the Vancouver Expo 86 and installed in 1988, the same year of the community Grand Opening.

The new Arbutus Ridge Marina consists of:

– 6 concrete floats

– 295 metres of mooring space

– 660 m2 of floating surface

– 15 – 36″ x 3/4″ marine-grade steel piles

– 9 – 2′ x 3/4″ marine-grade steel piles, 6 of which are drilled into rock
